Hi there, Reader When my kids were babies and toddlers (especially the year I had a 3 year old and twin 1 year olds), someone said something to me that has always stuck with me: “The days are long, but the years are short.” I had one of those moments yesterday. Even though every day seems like a never-ending stream of tasks, I was looking at my calendar and realized that July 1st is literally the halfway point of 2025. Halfway. Through the entire year. When did that happen?! It feels like we were just making New Year's resolutions six weeks ago, not six months ago. But here's what struck me as I sat with that realization: July 1st isn't just another day or another month. It's like getting a second New Year. Think about it - you get all that fresh start energy without the pressure of a massive life overhaul. No crowded gyms, no overwhelming resolution lists, no "new year, new me" pressure. (Anyone else feel passionately about that phrase, either for or against?) Just a clean slate for the second half of your year. Task: Give Yourself a Mid-Year Check-InTake a few minutes this week to reflect on these questions:
Don't overthink it. Just notice what comes up. Sometimes the things that feel most overwhelming are actually the easiest to fix once we name them. Free Offer: Your Mid-Year Reflection QuestionsI've put together a simple list of reflection questions to help you process the first half of 2025 and set intentions for the second half. It's nothing fancy - just what I’m asking myself to help me be clear on how I want the rest of my year to look like. (And making sure I celebrate my successes so far.) Paid Offer: Happy New (Half) Year Live CourseSpeaking of second-half fresh starts... I'm planning something special for July. What if instead of waiting until January 2026 to get organized, you started your second half of the year with systems that actually work? I'm launching my very first live organizing course - four weeks of getting your digital life in order from July 6 to August 2, just in time for the second half of 2025. Think of it as your mid-year reboot. More details coming this week, but I wanted to plant the seed. Because sometimes the best time for a fresh start isn't January 1st. Sometimes it's July 1st. Here's to making the second half of 2025 your most organized yet, Allie SUMMARY:

Hi Reader, There’s something special about January. I love the lights and the cheer of the holiday season but I also like the way everything thing feels cleaner and simpler after all the decorations are taken down and put away. It’s a quiet breath and time to pause, just like nature. If you're feeling a little slower right now, that's not a problem to fix — it's a season to respect. Winter is nature's pause. Roots grow underground. The soil is rejuvenating, getting ready for seeds in the...
Have you ever noticed how monsters are scariest when they're hidden? It makes me think of the movie The Mist (from a Stephen King novel). The monsters are terrifying but the worst part is you can’t see what’s coming. Or there’s battle tactics where smoke grenades are thrown to block visibility. Or speaking of scary movies and horror films, one of the reasons things are so scary is because you can’t really see them. There are flashes here or there, or shapes hidden in the dark, only partly...
Hi Reader, Now that the frenetic energy of gearing up for back-to-school is passed, my boys and I are now settling into our new routines. The temperature is starting to turn cooler, and the rain is coming (I’m in the Seattle area). Honestly, I find it kind of difficult to focus in August. My brain is still in summer mode and the kids are still home from school. We’re getting school supplies ready but I don’t have the rhythm yet. Now I’m settled in and ready to look at wrapping up Q3 and see...
