Hi, Reader how's it going!? It's been a while. I took my boys to Oregon for a family reunion…it was so much fun for them to catch up with cousins, some of whom they'd never met. New month…new opportunity to start again so I'm trying something new! My organizing process has four steps, and a month has four weeks. I'm creating a content calendar of 12 tips for each step. Then the two months that have an extra week, I'll do something fun and random for that 5th week. So this month (August), we're focusing on Canva organization. This week (week 34 of the year), let's build a content map for your Canva account. I'm assigning myself the same homework and will check in with you on Friday to share how I did and see how you did! SUMMARY:
Task: Craft Your Canva Content MapAs always, when cleaning and organizing files, start with a content map. It's so important to put form to intangible ideas BEFORE you start moving files around. For this week's task, spend 10-15 minutes creating a content map of what you actually create. Step 1: Brainstorm Your CategoriesStart with categories, not chaos: List all the types of Canva designs you create — social media, lead magnets, slides, client work, etc. Think in outcomes, not tools: Don't organize by "templates" or "graphics" — organize by what the file is for (e.g., "Podcast Graphics" instead of "Design Elements"). Step 2: Create Your Folder StructureCreate top-level folders like buckets: For example:
Subfolders are your friends: Break big categories into smaller pieces — e.g., "Social Media → Instagram → Carousels" Free Resource: Canva Content Mapping ToolsUse these free mind-mapping tools to visualize your Canva organization before you dive in:

Hey, Reader, how did you do this week? Were you able to brainstorm files you make in Canva and map it out? If so, hit reply and share it with me. What did you come up with? If not, don't worry. This week was super busy for me too. Tomorrow morning, Saturday August 9th at 8 am Pacific/11 am Eastern, I'm going to have a meetup to go over how to do this and then to allow you to share your map and get answers to any questions you might have. The meetup is free and the replay will live inside my...
